Yes, that is completely normal. Having IBD does not mean that you will lose weight. Some do and some don’t but that doesn’t mean that one person is sicker than the other. I myself have lost weight because of not absorbing nutrients properly but also because there have been times where I was in too much pain to eat enough or to eat at all. Other people may not have absorption problems because their IBD doesn’t affect them that way or they may even gain weight because of certain medications (steroids being a big culprit). So don’t feel that because you don’t lose weight that it’s not as serious or that you can’t be sick if you’re not underweight. Sickness comes in all shapes and sizes!
